Lab Services, Prescription Refills and Prior Authorizations
Laboratory Services Our office uses Quest Diagnostics/Lab One, Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) and Spectrum Laboratory for the majority of our lab testing, including tissue histology, cytology (pap) cultures, and blood work. On occasion, we will use the Gwinnett Hospital System for routine testing in conjunction with other imaging procedures. We use Berkley HeartLab, Inc for advanced cardiovascular tests.
Lab Orders
Requests for Lab Orders can be made by using My Health Portfolio, or calling 770-513-2072 ext 605. Labs should be done within two weeks of your scheduled visit. Please call 2 days in advance so we can be certain your labs have been ordered by the providers. Since we have electronic interfaces with Quest and LabCorp, your lab orders, once printed, are good for five days (including weekends).
Lab Results
The fastest, most efficient way for you to review your lab results is to log on to "My Health Portfolio", our patient web portal. You will need a user name and password to access the portal. If you have questions about your results, you can send a secure message to one of our nurses or providers via the portal. If you prefer to speak to a nurse about your results, you may call the office and leave a message on your provider's nurses voicemail, 770-513-2072, press 2, press 3 and select your provider. Please do not call the lab for results.
Lab services ordered by our providers for your medical care will be billed directly to you by the labs. (We do not bill for lab services.) If you have a question regarding a bill sent by one of the labs, please call their billing department directly. A patient contact number and account number will be located on the bill.
Preventative Medicine and Labs
